Around 100 people worked for months on a spectacular celebration of musicals at a show to help celebrate Eden Court's 50th birthday - can it only be for One Night Only!?

DOGSTAR CLASSIC DRAMA RETURNS …

Highland theatre legends DOGSTAR THEATRE COMPANY are back on tour, reviving The Tailor Of Inverness starting at Ullapool’s Macphail Centre last Saturday. Unfolding war and history – will time have changed Matthew Zajac’s story of his late father’s past, and how has the play affected the playwright and actor’s own life?Touring Scotland, the play has its second night in Edinburgh  on Tuesday at The Lyceum and returns to EDEN COURT on November 11 and 12, after Findhorn Universal Hall (Oct 21), Rosehall Hall (Nov 14), among many.

Another reminder for a must-see if you like your  bands/local musicians/ in bumper packs. Inverness label supremo and gig promoter IAIN McLAUGHLIN and the IMOUT label live weekender (Oct 23 and 24). Tickets now on sale for the spectacular two-day An Seomar giggery. And 15 of the brightest and best set to perform.

Don’t forget that Inverness singer-songwriter KATIE GREGSON-MACLEOD will release her debut album Albatross on November 6. Time to pre-order.

But we are very much moving – if you can very much move – into the Season Of The Book.

First up, former Charleston pupil CAL FLYN will be talking about her latest book The Savage Landscape which took her across the world to find and try to understand wilderness – from the ocean floor to volcanoes, going in search of Transylvanian brown bears to spending time with Nepal’s Bon people. Nairn Book & Arts Festival returned – guests included an upbeat former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and loads of other events including writer MANDY HAGGITH talking about her award-winning book The Lost Elms. See my review.
